Time to spread my wings...or something like that
It happened....I maxed out my Pandora hours. Before I spend the cash on what I consider a fantastic service I will be evaluating last.fm. Its not a new site but it is to me. If you've never used it stay tuned and I"ll let you know what I think.

Pandora imposes limit to monthly listening time.
Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!! I forgot my Pandora password! Luckily I had my cookie cached on another PC so I was able to change it, whew!
It was then that I realized I only had 13 hours left of listening time this month...
What? When? How?.....This was news to me so I dug around and found that in order to save itself Pandora inked a deal to lower the royalties to a more manageable level with the goal to be profitable by the end of NEXT year. I knew they were in trouble and I had heard late last year they were supposedly shutting it down, yet the hits kept coming and I thought nothing more of it.
If you listen to Pandora a lot you will have noticed that more and more ads have been coming through. Aside from the audio commercials they have ads that are embedded in their player thus averting the pop-up/ad blockers [ clever :-) ].
I was cool with that. It wasn't enough to get me close to thinking about subscribing to Pandora but now the 40 hour time limit that ..."will only impact about 10% of users" - that's me - has me thinking about a subscription. If I do run out of time I'll be able to get the rest of the month for $0.99 which is reasonable.
If you want more details about Pandora and the deal with the devil they had to make you can find it here.

it was take your kid(s) to work day today....
Oh the joys of parenting! Let me tell you we had some fun. IBM used to allow children to come, once a year, and let them see what their parents did on a day to day basis. I can imagine this would be both boring to the kid and difficult for the parent. These days they have an organizer that sets up about 6 hours of activities for young kids to teenagers on site, complete with a spelling bee. This year was fun and I'm sure my kid will be asking me in a month or so when the next one is.

Houses in Austin...
So I was looking at some listings in central Austin and I must say......sigh....there are some seriously delusional people that think they can get a quarter of a million dollars for a piece of shit in a borderline neighborhood. Whaddya gonna do....

Finally got off the old rear
Well, I've been toying around with this for a long while and have taken the deep dive.
Let's ride!
I've got lots on my mind, for now it's mostly work related and I'll save that for another day.
Hope to see ya'll soon!
